"So this is it. It's all over. Years of elite training and it comes to this; burying my comrades on some Outer Rim backwater. Perhaps, while their guard's down, I can make a break for it..." - PL-21226, Yavin 4 Imperial Assault Campaign Report : Mission One - Aftermath I finally had the chance to start a Star Wars: Imperial Assault campaign at the Manchester Tabletop meet-up on Monday. Five us played through the tutorial again as an introduction and straight away everybody was eager to try out the first campaign mission - so the tutorial did it's job of selling the game! Spoiler alert: If you've not played the campaign, but plan to, don't read any further. I've aimed to minimise the information given away but inevitably some details will be revealed. (more…)
It looks like there's been a reprint recently of Betrayal on House on the Hill as it's available on Amazon and in Manchester's game stores for around £36. It's been on my "should take a look at" list since I saw it on Wil Wheaton's Table Top, so I expect it'll be reaching my tabletop in the not-too-distant future!
I had an X-Com boardgame pre-order open with Amazon. It's not updated in a while, but today I got a message from Amazon saying the pre-order has been cancelled: Our supplier has informed us that this item is no longer available. This item has now been cancelled from your order #xxxx and we can confirm that you have not been charged for it. Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused. I am disappoint. I suspect an alien plot. FFG are still updating the page for X-Com with news/teasers, and the expectation for release is sometime in the first quarter of 2015 (so January to March), but that's about as much as there is to go on right now. Update - 23/01/2015: It's available again on Amazon and elsewhere. I've pre-ordered it from 365games for £43.
